Today’s question is: Why on earth do dogs bark like crazy when a train sounds it’s horn???

Background: We have several dogs in the neighborhood. It seems that two households of them like to howl. Every single time the local commuter rail sounds it’s horn (why does it have to do that??) those dogs start howling. My goodness it sounds like they are dying when they howl. It’s horrible. I wish I had a recording of it so you all could understand the sound I get to hear several times a day.

Makes me wonder what they’d sound like if they were actually dying. I hope I’m not around for that.

But really, can’t you train a dog out of howling at the sound of a horn?? Man I wish you could.
