unsightly gap?

Today’s question is:  Why don’t people make sure their swimsuits fit properly?

Background:  Seems as though I’m having run ins with bathing suit ladies this summer.
The other day I was at the local pool with the kids.  Now that they can all swim, I don’t actually have to get into the water unless I really want to.  So sometimes I just sit on my lounge chair people watching reading.  The other day, as I was reading, I heard snoring near me.  I started looking around and noticed that this semi large older lady was napping on a lounge chair next to me.  Immediately, I notice that she had a considerable amount of dark hair on the back of her knees, it was a little disturbing, but only because I couldn’t reconcile why she wouldn’t just shave it, but that’s a whole other post.
When she shifted to her side and the snoring grew louder, what really caught my eye was her bathing suit.  The leg of the suit gapped because of her belly and I had a fairly clear view of her pubes.  Truth be known, I gasped a little when I saw it and then I tried to figure out how I could get a picture of it with my blackberry, but it was too risky, she was facing my way.
Later, when she woke she began this lengthy conversation with me and all I could think the whole time was hair, hair, hair.  She’d be the perfect laser hair removal candidate.
Note to self, as I age, make sure I check the back of my knees and keep my bikini area lasered and clean.  Something we should all think about perhaps?

running on the phone?

Today’s question is:  Is talking on the cell phone while running liken to running with someone and talking while running?
Background: Two days ago I dropped my middle daughter at her tutor and brought the other two buckets of joy to the park.  As we were getting out of the car I saw a woman halfway through the park running toward us chatting away on her cell phone (rather loudly but I won’t go there).  As she ran toward us the conversation continued, she even paused to say hello to us, and then ran off still talking on the phone.
So, I guess the talking on the cell phone while running question is getting a little old, maybe I just need to understand.  Is it a replacement for running with a real person?  Or could it simply be some people can not pass up a phone call, any phone call.
I guess the next big question I’ll have is “why would anyone answer the phone while using the public bathroom”.  I’m sure those people are out there, I just can’t even imagine being one of them!

rules of the road?

Today’s question is:  Why don’t people follow the rules of the road?

Background:  my latest gripe on drivers is centered around this rule:

Lane Usage

You must drive on the right half of the roadway except:

•when passing another vehicle moving in the same direction on a two-lane highway,

interstate highway or controlled freeway.

•when a blockage makes it necessary to drive to the left of the center line. You may

drive on the left after yielding to oncoming traffic.

•on a roadway divided into three marked lanes for traffic.

•on a roadway restricted to one-way traffic.

Why doesn’t anyone yield to the oncoming cars when there are cars parked on their side of the road and they are driving to the left of the center line?  It makes me crazy.  Ten times a week I nearly get my side mirror ripped off by someone who is apparently not privy to the rules of the road and think they are absolutely more important that whom ever has the right of way.  Lord help me.
