doggie doo doo? Part 3

Today’s question is: Who walks their dog in winter and lets him poo on the sidewalk and doesn’t pick it up?

Background: Only the really good, very thoughtful, dog owners do this. You have to be a special breed of dog owner to let your dog repeatedly poo on the sidewalk, the busy school route, making the kids and parents dodge the poo almost daily.
Last winter, this was our daily fate to school, poo dodging. We aren’t talking about a small dog or small poo, this crap was huge. I’m telling you there is nothing more gross than big mounds of poo in the middle of the sidewalk. Well, maybe squishing poo with your foot would be a bit worse.
Please, pick up your poo!

doggie doo doo? part 2

Today’s question is: Why would you let your dog out, everyday, knowing the dog will roam over to the neighbors yard to poo?

Background: Who does this? Some people do, that I know for sure. As a matter of fact I have two friends that are currently suffering this fate. The neighbors dog poos in my yard fate. Both of my friends have had discussions with their neighbors about the problem, and both neighbors do it anyway.
I’ve told both my friends they need to put the dog poo on the neighbors front door step. Maybe after a week of picking it off their front porch they’ll get the hint. Or maybe not?

Why oh why do people do this? It’s just not normal.

doggie doo doo?

Today’s question is: Why don’t people pick up their dogs poo?

Background: Ever walk out your front door and down your walkway and almost step in a pile of doggie poo? Well I have, and it was before I had a dog. Who, I mean who? lets their dog poo on someone’s front walkway and doesn’t bother to pick it up? To that, who goes for a walk with their dog without dog bags?
What is up with people? Have a dog? Pick up your poo, or let the dog only poo in your own yard if you don’t want to pick it up!

impatient?

Today’s question is: Why don’t cars like to yield to pedestrians?

Background: The kids and I walk to and from school almost every day. It’s about 6 long blocks away, across one busy-ish road but it’s very do-able rain or shine. I actually quite like the walk and ever since we got the dog it’s a good way to get him out.
So, as it seems, quite often people just absolutely do not like to wait while we cross the street. Countless times I have had cars inch into the middle of an intersection trying to get as close as humanly possible to us, so that the second we cleared the drivers path, they could fly on by, leaving us in their dust, before we even get all the way across the street.
Just today on the way home when I stepped into the intersection with the girls behind me I felt a car waiting to make a right hand turn. Sure enough, true to the times, this car started inching forward, I could feel it. I stopped and let the girls walk in front of me because I just knew that car was going to turn the first second those girls passed what the driver viewed as enough space. Sure enough, with me behind them, that car turned, I could feel the draft from it at my back and I turned around and gave that driver the meanest look. What if the dog ran back unexpectedly? What if one of the girls tripped? What if I fell back? If any number of those things would have happened, we would surely have been run over.
Why is everyone in such a stinkin’ hurry they can’t even wait for people to cross the street?
